Do you want to enhance your professional presence but can’t find the time to do it? Or are you a manager, hoping to bring your staff together and strengthen your team’s potential? What about trying some food for thought: engaging lunchtime learning sessions with Corporate Class. Lunch not only can be a time to recharge physically, but also an opportunity to redirect your mental focus.
With the Corporate Class Inc. Lunch and Learn workshops customized to develop Executive Presence, you and your employees can engage first-hand with the critical components of Executive Presence – poise, confidence, and authority – in a 60 to 90 minute session that fits easily in the middle of the workday. These workshops are highly interactive, so they will keep you engaged and alert during the session and will help you retain the tips and practices for use when the session concludes.
On our website we outline the sixteen different Learn and Learn sessions that Corporate Class Inc. offers to organizations – and additionally caters to different professional groups, from senior executives to new recruits. Here, we offer a brief description and a short video that captures the essence of each of our sessions.
In this blog, we introduce you to a few themes that our Lunch and Learns address that recently have been of particular relevance to us.
Working a Room
The ability to enter a room with confidence, make connections and have conversations, and leave with a list of meaningful contacts takes practice and skill. Our workshop on Working a Room will help participants work on their ability to make small talk, develop a memorable introduction, and feel confident in a sea of new faces. These skills came in handy during the Corporate Class Inc. and Herrmann Group women’s networking event last October, when we brought together a diverse group of professional women from across Toronto to meet, greet, and make connections. Additionally, Working a Room is an important topic in our Executive Presence Training program, which took place last September and will be offered again this month.
Skill, knowledge, and confidence are not the only components of a well-rounded professional. Appropriate business dress is critical to presenting yourself as competent and self-aware. Our workshop on business dress will help participants to manage and maintain their image through dress and grooming. For a starting point, read last week’s review of Freda’s Boutique in Toronto: a hub for women seeking professional, stylish, and original attire. And wondering how you can make do with professional attire in the blistering cold of winter? Look back at our post on cold-weather style for professional women, which can accommodate both the weather and your image.
If you hope to be a successful and influential leader, the ability to speak publicly is an indispensible skill to help you get there. Our Lunch and Learn session on public speaking will enable participants to learn and practice excellent public speaking skills – and help you stand out from the crowd. Did you make a New Year’s resolution to conquer your anxieties about public speaking and to present with confidence in 2014? If so, then this session is for you.
