Maggie Sigouin, mother of two has had the unique opportunity of raising her children in five countries.
Out of necessity, Maggie, with the help of a British primary school teacher and four other moms, formed the first English speaking co-op preschool in Binnigen, Switzerland. This established a pattern; as the children grew so did the need for their social development and interacting skills.
At the American School of Paris, she initiated "International Week", a multi-national festival which encouraged all elementary students to share their homeland culture through music, dance, food and dress. She contributed to the "Art Appreciation programme" for primary grades where children made frequent study tours of renowned museums such as the Louvre.
Maggie presided as PTA President at St. John’s International School in Waterloo Belgium. St John’s housed 3 schools under one roof (Elementary, Middle and High School). As PTA President, Maggie had to deal with issues related to children’s good manners and self-esteem. A program was set up during one semester that was geared to grooming, etiquette and public behaviour. Subsequently, another semester dealt with morals and values. Aside from volunteering and fund raising for the school theatre and library, Maggie also sat as a member of the Advisory Board and the Board of Directors.
As an Ex-Patriot, Maggie was a member of the Canadian Club, and an associate member of the American Women’s Club of Paris.
While living in Philadelphia, Maggie and her husband were associated with both the Historical Home Society and The Athenaeum of Philadelphia.
Upon Maggie’s return to Canada, she studied Children’s and Business Etiquette at Image International. July 2007, Maggie joined Corporate Class Inc.
