Effective Communication Skills Training Course:
This intense Course provides presentation skills training across the multiple disciplines necessary for making compelling and engaging presentations – to improving communication skills at work.
Participants learn to:
- Communicate with influence by being themselves
- Structure a presentation for ultimate impact
- Maintain a powerful on-stage presence through body language and tonality
- Skillfully bridge to key messages
- Ask for commitment
- Develop proper notes to stay on message
- Effectively use visual aids and handouts

Speaking to impact and influence
is one of the critical executive skills
Untrained speakers frequently either fail to grab their audiences, or bore them unsparingly. The root cause is, typically, the result of speakers thinking they need to be somebody they’re not, super polished, articulate, a TV host.
Audiences aren’t looking for trained TV performers
That’s not what they’re looking for. They want authenticity – to see the real you – and can sense in a heartbeat when the speaker is less than genuine.
This Course is designed to show participants how to demonstrate the same high-quality communication skills they exhibit during relaxed conversation, when speaking more formally – making speeches, presentations or pitches.
Effective communication training:
Practice, practice, practice
Learning to stand out when speaking is a physical skill. Just like learning to play golf or the piano, it takes practice. Spoken communication has everything to do with what you say and how you say it.
During five stages, participants learn:
- Communication Style: How to say it in every situation, whether group sessions or one-on-one
- Presentation Structure: What to say – using a model that ensures presentations are impactful from beginning to end
- Techniques to stay on message: How to cover everything but never ramble again
- The golden rules of using visual aids to enhance presentations, including PowerPoint
- Leveraging these skills: How to put it all together
The speaker’s role is NOT to talk — it’s to make the audience think
Communication is all about Silence – not words.
In fact, Silence = Thought = Memory: Take one away and the other two are gone.
When speakers simply read their presentations, the grammar may be perfect and the speaker polished, but nobody remembers either the speaker or the message.

The ability to achieve two objectives defines a successful presentation:
- When the audience remembers you

Relaxed conversational style
These objectives are best achieved in a relaxed conversational style.
You are the gateway. The audience can’t remember your message if they don’t remember you.
Relaxed conversation is a two-way highway – but the pace of relaxed conversation is controlled by the listener through nods, smiles, frowns etc.
Your own conversational style is your best style and just like fingerprints, reflects your own unique style. Audiences are used to hearing conversation. Broken grammar and pauses are normal to them; they anticipate them.
During this Course, participants learn how the principles of effective, relaxed conversation can be applied when delivering presentations, a speech, updates and briefings.
This is an essential coaching tool used extensively during this Course to ensure participants master the skills quickly and to maximum advantage.
Each participant is asked to bring a short presentation comprising brief notes and not to exceed five minutes – there’s no need to perfect deliver.
